Dale Coyne Racing Bio
Dale Coyne Racing (DCR) is an American professional open-wheel racing team currently competing in the IndyCar Series and Indy NXT. Founded in 1984, the team is owned by former driver Dale Coynew. Previously, the team was known as Payton-Coyne Racing from 1995 to 2000, which reflected a partnership with Chicago Bears great Walter Payton.
The end of 1988 saw Dale Coyne retiring as a driver to focus on launching and tutoring new young drivers, regardless of participating in several more races as a driver through 1991.
The team’s first experience in the IndyCar Series came in 2008 with drivers Bruno Junqueira and Mario Moraes. On July 5, 2009, Wilson earned the Dale Coyne Racing team their first-ever win by winning the Camping World Grand Prix at the Glen, at Watkins Glen International.
