Ed Carpenter Racing is an American racing team from Indiana, based in Speedway, currently competing in the IndyCar Series. They field the No. 20 Dallara-Chevrolet for Alexander Rossi, the No. 21 Dallara-Chevrolet for Christian Rasmussen, and the No. 33 Dallara-Chevrolet for Ed Carpenter.
Ed is the owner of the team along with Ted Gelov. Ed Carpenter Racing was opened in 2011 and made its debut in 2012 at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Ed Carpenter, after running five seasons with Vision Racing and the 2011 IndyCar Series season with Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing, decided to form his racing team and announced its formation on November 2, 2011. The team ran its first season in 2012 with sponsorship support from Fuzzy’s Premium Vodka for three seasons, and on February 13, 2012, the team confirmed that it would be running with engines from Chevrolet.

During Ed Carpenter Racing’s early years, the team hired multiple people to function properly as a racing team. The main reason for the team’s creation was concerns surrounding the departure of Sarah Fisher Racing’s sponsor Dollar General. Brett Schmitt was hired as the team’s crew chief.

The team’s drivers are Alexander Rossi, Christian Rasmussen, and Ed Carpenter.
