The England Women’s Hockey team is ranked second on the FIH Women’s World Rankings.
History
The England Hockey association which is the national governing body for the sport in England was formed in December 2002.
The first recorded women’s hockey match was played between England and Ireland in Dublin. The English team lost to their neighbours 0-2.
Achievements
England’s best finish at the Women’s Hockey World Cup was in 2010 when they finished third. They have won silver medals in the Commonwealth Games thrice.
The team has won the Eurohockey Nations Championship twice.
