The Ireland Women's Hockey team falls under European Hockey Federation and is associated to Hockey Ireland. One of the first major tournaments in which Ireland Women's Hockey team played was in the year 1986 World Cup.
Achievements
The Women’s hockey team of Ireland have been placed 5th twice in 2005 and 2009 in the European Championship. Their best world cup run was in 1994, standing 11th on the final World Cup table. They managed to finish 12th in the 1986 World cup and 15th in the 2002 edition.
2018 Women’s Hockey World Cup
Ireland are in Pool B with England, India and United States. Although Ireland’s previous performance have not been that great but they are expected to go through the first phases of the World Cup.
