The South Africa Women's Hockey team falls under African Hockey Federation and is associated to South African Hockey Association.
One of the first major tournaments in which South Africa Women's Hockey team played was the 1998 World Cup. They were placed seventh in the final standings of the tournament.
Achievements
The South Africa Women's Hockey team have come fourth in 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games. They have won all the African Cup for Nations and All-Africa Games till now. Their best run in the Summer Olympics was back in 2004, when they were placed 9th on the table.
2018 World Cup
The South Africa Women's Hockey team are in Pool C, along with Argentina, Germany and Spain. They are currently seeded 14 on the FIH World Rankings and will go into the tournament as underdogs. However, they can easily upset bigger teams and reach the knockout phase or even further.
