Tricon Garage Racing History
Tricon Garage was founded in early 2017 by former team owner and racing drivers David Gilliland and Bo LeMastus. Gilliland was the owner of David Gilliland Racing while LeMastus was the owner of Crosley Sports Group. Their combined efforts led to the formation of DGR-Crosley. The team is fairly new in the series and fielded Toyota during its initial years in 2018 and 2019. They switched to Ford in 2020.
There were many significant changes in the team in the forthcoming years. The co-owner role was shifted to Johnny Gray and LeMastus took over a management and sponsorship position in the team. The team was renamed David Gilliland Racing and decided to partner with Toyota TRD again in 2022. The team underwent another name change in 2023. This time it was renamed as Tricon Garage. The team has a five-year history in the sport but has yet to win any championships as of November 2024.
Tricon Garage Owner
Tricon Garage is co-owned by David Gilliland and Johnny Gray as of November 2024. The team went through significant ownership changes in 2021. It was initially founded as a collaborative effort between Gilliland and Bo LeMastus. LeMastus stepped down to a management and sponsorship role in 2021 letting Gray take ownership stake in the team.
David Gilliland
David Gilliland, father of NASCAR Cup Series driver Todd Gilliland, is a former stock car racing driver. He competed in the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series from 2005 to 2018. Gilliland is a 2022 inductee of the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame. He used to race part-time in the Xfinity Series and scored one victory in his Xfinity Series career with three top-10s.
Gilliand is the son of former stock car racing driver, Butch Gilliand. He used to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series and West Series in the active years of his career. David Gilliland participated in 333 races throughout his 12-year career in the Cup Series. He won the pole position at the 2007 Daytona 500 in his first full-time season but was unable to win the race. Gilliland gathered eight top-10s in the Cup Series before retiring from racing. He primarily competed with Robert Yates Racing and Front Row Motorsports throughout his racing career in the Cup Series.
Johnny Gray
Johnny is a former racer who used to compete in the NHRA drag racing series. He also used to be an executive in an oil company. He was the president of Marbob Energy which he co-founded with his father. It was a New Mexico-based oil company that was later sold off in 2010 for $1.7 billion in proceeds according to Fortune. He split the proceeds with his sister.
Gray was a part of NHRA’s Eliminator and Pro Stock division. He raced for nearly 40 years and was a top driver for more than 15 years in his career. Johnny retired from racing in 2013. He started supporting his grandson, Tanner, and son, Shane in their Pro Stock racing efforts. His grandson won the NHRA Pro Stock title in 2018.
Bo LeMastus
James "Bo" LeMastus, the former co-owner of Tricon Garage is an American businessman and professional racing driver. He is the CEO of Crosley Brands which formerly partnered with Tricon Garage in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He has competed in the Stadium Super Trucks and the Craftsman Truck Series.
LeMastus started his business journey in 1983 as an intern at Modern Marketing Concepts, becoming the CEO later on. The company acquired the name, Crosley, in 1994 from Powel Crosley Jr. LeMastus has made significant investments in motorsports. He bought the Charlestown Motor Speedway in 1998 and converted it into a Podium One Motoplex motocross track. LeMastus also bought off the Salem Speedway in 2018.
Bo LeMastus used to compete in the AMA Motocross Championship in the initial years of his racing career. He debuted in the ARCA Racing Series in 2013 and competed as a driver until the 2018 season.

Jeff Hensley
Jeff Hensley is the crew chief for Taylor Gray. He is a veteran of NASCAR who has previously competed in the Xfinity Series as a racer. He participated in 90 races over four years in the Xfinity Series, collecting 24 top-10. Hensley won one championship as a crew chief in the Xfinity Series in 1990. He has worked with an array of teams in the NASCAR Truck Series including, GMS Racing (three separate stints with them), ThorSport Racing (three separate stints with them), Joe Denette/NTS Motorsports, Kevin Harvick Incorporated, Red Horse Racing, Xpress Motorsports, and Bill Davis Racing.
Jerame Donley
Jerame Donley is the crew chief for Tanner Gray, who is the grandson of ex-owner Johnny Gray. He states on his LinkedIn that he is from Mooresville, North Carolina in the United States. He completed his Bachelor's in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina in 2008. Donley has previously worked for teams like, Hendrick Motorsports, Chip Ganassi Racing, and Petty GMS. He joined Tricon Garage as a crew chief in 2022.
