He won his first ATP singles title in 2023 at the Japan Open Tennis Championships, defeating Aslan Karatsev in the Final. Shelton lifted his second ATP singles title at the 2024 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships, defeating Frances Tiafoe in the first African-American men's singles tennis final. He finished quarterfinalist at the 2024 Mallorca Championship.
