Ranked among the top three German players, Daniel Altmaier started his professional journey in 2014. He played his ATP main draw match at the 2017 Geneva Open as a qualifier, losing to Sam Querrey in the first round. With Jan-Lennard Struff and Tim Putz, Altmaier stormed the Netherlands into the semifinal of the 2024 Davis Cup. He came to prominence after registering a win against Jannik Sinner in the second round of the 2023 French Open by playing his longest match since Lorenzo Giustino against Corentin Moutet.

His best Grand Slam was recorded at the 2020 French Open, where he reached the fourth round. He is ranked No. 88 as of 2024, with a career-high ranking of No. 47, which he achieved in October 2023. Altmaier finished quarterfinalist at the 2024 Szczecin Open, losing to Andrea Pellegrino in straight sets. He reached the final of the 2024 Challenger Seville, where he lost to Roberto Carballes Baena. Altmaier advanced to his maiden ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinal at the 2023 Madrid Open before losing to Borna Coric.

Alberto Mancini is the coach of Daniel Altmaier.

Mancini is an Argentine former professional player who has competed in both singles and doubles. As of 2024, he has won three singles and four ATP doubles titles in his career. Some of the top accomplishments of Mancini include defeating Boris Becker in the final of the 1989 Monte Carlo Open.

His success continued as within a week, he won the 1989 Italian Open by beating Andre Agassi after saving a match point. He achieved his career-high ranking of No. 8 in singles on October 9, 1989.

His career-best Grand Slam performance was recorded at the 1989 French Open, where he advanced to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, he lost to Stefan Edberg. He retired from professional tennis in 1994 and started his coaching career in 2003 by becoming the coach of Guillermo Coria.

Mancini was awarded the Konex Award for being the best coach in tennis for Argentina. He also took the role of the captain of the Argentina Davis Cup team and led the team to the finals of 2006 and 2008. During 2020, Mancini also trained prominent tennis player Fabio Fognini.

Altmaier has not won any Grand Slam title yet in his career. He registered his best major performance by reaching the fourth round of the 2020 French Open. In the current season, he was eliminated in the first round of the Australian Open and the second round of Wimbledon.
