Danielle Collins, an American tennis player, was born on December 13, 1993. Her career-high WTA rankings are No. 7 in singles and No. 79 in doubles. She won four singles tournaments, including a WTA 1000 victory at the Miami Open in 2024, and one doubles trophy. After losing at the Australian Open, Collins announced her retirement from professional tennis at the end of the 2024 season, citing health concerns. In October, however, she announced that she would not be retiring.
In 2014 and 2016, Collins won the NCAA singles championship twice while attending the University of Virginia during her sophomore and senior years. She earned a bachelor's degree in business and media studies at the University of Virginia, where she finished as the top-ranked collegiate player. She qualified for the 2018 Miami Open, where she reached the semifinals, marking her WTA Tour debut. She won her first WTA Tour title at the Palermo Ladies Open in 2021.
