Marcelo Arevalo is a 33-year-old professional tennis player hailing from San Salvador, El Salvador. He is ranked World No. 8 by the ATP as of August 2024. He achieved the career-high ranking of No. 5 in November 2022 in doubles, becoming the highest-ranked player in the history of Salvador. He won the 2024 Cincinnati Masters title in doubles with Mate Pavic in straight sets.

Arevalo advanced to the semifinal of the 2024 Canadian Open, with Pavic losing to Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos in the semifinals. With his doubles partner Pavic, he reached the final of the 2024 Italian Open and the semifinal of the 2024 Eastbourne International. He won the bronze medal at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games in the singles category. Arevalo won his first ATP doubles title at the Los Cabos Open with Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela, which helped him break into the top 50. He won his maiden ATP Masters 1000 at the 2023 Canadian Open with Jean-Julien Rojer, defeating Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury.
