Tennis sensation Madison Keys has garnered the attention of fans worldwide with her performance at the 2024 Madrid Open. She made it to her second WTA 1000 clay semifinal, defeating Ons Jabeur in the quarterfinal after coming from 0-6 0-2 down to win the match. However, she lost to Iga Swiatek in the semifinal.

Keys’ best Grand Slam performance came at the 2025 Australian Open. Keys defeated former No. 1 Iga Swiatek 5-7, 6-1, 7-6 to advance to her first major final of the season. She also defeated Elena Rybakina, Elina Svitolina, and Danielle Collins en route. In the final, she defeated defending champion Aryna Sabalenka by 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 in the final, thus lifting her first major title. By winning the title, she became the oldest Australian Open women's singles champion in the Open Era. She won a prize money of A$3,500,000 for winning the title.
