Simone Bolelli is a professional doubles player ranked as high as No. 8 on August 17, 2015. The 39-year-old is ranked No. 11 as of November 2024. Bolelli has won one Grand Slam title, the 2015 Australian Open with Fabio Fognini. The Italian duo defeated the pair of Nicolas Mahut and Pierre Hugues Herbert with 6-4, 6-4. They became the first male player from Italy in the Open Era to win a Major title.

Bolelli won 14 ATP doubles titles, including the 2024 China Open, the 2024 Buenos Aires and the 2024 Halle Open with Andrea Vavassori. He reached his third Major final at the 2024 French Open with Vavassori, losing to Mate Pavic and Marcelo Arevalo. He advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Canadian Open and the 2024 Madrid Open.

Bolelli finished as a semifinalist at the 2024 Italian Open with Vavassori. Besides doubles, he has earned success in singles by winning a bronze medal at the 2005 Mediterranean Games. Bolelli helped Italy win the 2023 Davis Cup against Australia. He lifted the trophy of the 2024 China Open with Vavassori, defeating the duo of Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara.
