Storm Hunter (née Storm Sanders) is a professional tennis player from Australia. She was born on August 11, 1994, in Rockhampton, Queensland. Hunter is a WTA star who specializes in doubles. As of March 2024, the WTA ranked her World No. 3 in doubles, and she achieved her career-high ranking of World No. 1 on November 6, 2023. She has won eight WTA titles, including two WTA 1000 titles last year.

Hunter lifted the trophy of her eighth WTA doubles title at the 2024 Dubai Tennis Championship, where Hunter and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Ellen Perez and Nicole Melichar-Martinez in the final. At the 2024 San Diego Open, Hunter finished semifinalist with Kateřina Siniaková, but the duo lost to Ellen Perez and Nicole Melichar—Martinez.

Hunter finished runner-up at the 2024 BNP Paribas Open along with Kateřina Siniaková, where she lost to Elise Mertens and Hsieh Su-wei in the final (6-3, 6-4). After finishing finalist at the BNP Paribas Open, she received a prize money of $236,800 with 650 points.

Hunter has also won a Grand Slam in mixed doubles at the 2022 US Open with partner John Peers. Her best grand slam record in the doubles category includes finishing finalist at the 2023 Wimbledon Open and semi-finalist at the 2024 Australian Open and 2022 US Open. She finished semifinalist at the 2023 WTA Finals in the doubles category. She also helped her country reach the final of the 2022 Fed Cup.

Besides doubles, she is known for playing in singles tournaments. In singles, she is currently ranked No.124 in the world. Her best Grand Slam singles result came at the 2024 Australian Open, where she reached the third round. She reached the final of the 2024 Mumbai Open, where she lost to Darja Semenistaja.

Having picked up the tennis racket at the age of six, Hunter quickly rose up the ranks. Although she is a good all-court player, her preferred surface is hard courts. According to the WTA website, the Aussie’s favourite shot is her forehand. She is currently coached by Nicole Pratt.
