Late rapper Julio Foolio's mother Sandrikas Mays opened up about the recent mysterious activities on the rapper's Instagram account. During an interview with SayCheeseTV on Monday, August 5, Sandrikas Mays said that she was running Foolio's Instagram account at the moment. She stated that earlier, somebody else had his password but she recovered the account using the rapper's phone. Mays said:
"Before, I wasn't running his account. But as of right now, you can see the different stuff on there now, me posting songs. Now, I am running the account."
Julio Foolio was shot and killed on June 23 of this year, in a Tampa, Florida Holiday Inn parking lot, where he was celebrating his 26th birthday. Four suspects were arrested in relation to the rapper's murder in late July while one suspect remained at large.
"I'm running his account now": Foolio's mother, Sandrikas Mays
Even after Julio Foolio's unfortunate passing, his Instagram account @julio_foolio continued to be active, posting the rapper's various tracks among other things, which led many to speculate about who was behind the account. The speculation was put to rest on Monday when the late rapper's mom Sandrikas Mays revealed that she was behind the account's unusual activity.
Mays sat down with SayCheeseTV on Monday for a tell-all interview. During the interview, Mays was asked who was running her late son's account and if that was something that she approved of. Sandrikas Mays replied:
"I'm running his account now. Before, somebody had his password or whatever and I'm just able to retrieve it from his phone."
As mentioned earlier, Sandrikas clarified that although she wasn't the one initially running her late son's Instagram account, she was the one doing it now and posting songs.
Earlier during the interview, Sandrikas Mays revealed that Foolio was working on an album called Demigod prior to his death. Mays confirmed that the album was going to be released on August 18, the late rapper's father's birthday. She also insisted that if the album does not drop on the 18th, it eventually will be towards the end of August or the beginning of September.
When talking about her late son's influence on drill music and in the Jacksonville rap scene as a whole, Sandrikas Mays agreed that Foolio and fellow Jacksonville rapper Soulja K opened the door for Jacksonville rappers. She said:
"They were working with people already in the industry, at a young age. They did, they opened the door for opportunities for others to start in this rapping industry,"
According to Mays, regardless of how people felt about her son, "the fact remains" that he opened the doors for many to prosper in the industry. To Sandrikas, this was something you could not take away from her late son. When asked about what made Foolio "the most hated" guy in Jacksonville, Mays responded that it was jealousy and his disrespectful lyrics.
However, Sandrakias insisted that people only see stuff one-sided. She explained:
"If you really know Charles, if you be around him, he's super quiet, he would give you anything. So people always talk about the negative but they not gonna talk about the good things,"
Sandrikas explained that he did a lot of good things for the community and gave thousands of dollars to various groups of people. According to Mays, her son was more than just drill music. She revealed that she had around 80 songs of the late rapper and half of those tracks had nothing to do with drill.
On July 29, Isaiah Chance, 21, Alicia Andrews, 21, and Sean Gathright, 18, were arrested by the Tampa police in relation to Foolio's murder. On July 30, another suspect Rashad Murphy was also taken into custody while yet another suspect Davion Murphy remained at large.
Among other charges, all five suspects were charged with first-degree premeditated murder with the use of a firearm. However, in the interview with SayCheeseTV, Sandrikas Mays revealed that she did not know any of the aforementioned suspects and suggested that more may be arrested in the future in relation to the case.
