Seth Jarvis scored twice for the Hurricanes with Jackson Blake getting the other. Meanwhile, Tomas Hertl and Shea Theodore scored for the Golden Knights.

Here's a closer look at the three most impressive Carolina Hurricanes players from their win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday night.

#3. Jackson Blake

Jackson Blake scored the go-ahead goal for the Carolina Hurricanes 46 seconds into the third period. The goal made the game 2-1 for the Canes. The Canes would take a 3-1 lead before Theodore’s fifth of the season made the game 3-2.

Blake had a solid night, playing in over 14 minutes of ice time on 19 shifts. He registered two shots on net, providing solid scoring on Sebastian Aho’s right wing. Blake should continue to improve as he gets more chances to prove he’s a solid top-six forward.

#2. Pyotr Kochetkov

Pyotr Kochetkov earned the game’s second star thanks to his 29 saves on 31 shots. He held the fort down the stretch as the Golden Knights pushed to tie the game. With the Golden Knights outshooting the Carolina Hurricanes 10-8 in the third, Kochetkov’s efforts were especially critical to the win.

On the season, Kochetkov has played in 29 games, winning 17, while registering a 2.52 GAA and a .902 SV%. The 25-year-old is considered the Canes’ goalie of the future. As such, his numbers this season are indicative of his potential to take over the crease full-time in the coming season.

#1. Seth Jarvis

Seth Jarvis scored twice for the Canes on Friday night, getting the game-winner at 6:09 of the third. At the time, the goal made the game 3-1. Jarvis’ insurance goal made the difference as the Golden Knights made the game close.

Overall, Jarvis played early 20 minutes, about 20 seconds fewer than top-line center Sebastian Aho. Jarvis saw the ice on 25 shifts, getting three shots on goal. He ended the night a plus-2, earning him the game’s first star.

The Hurricanes will get a couple of days off to recover before taking on the Chicago Blackhawks next at United Center on Monday in an inter-conference clash that promises to be an entertaining one.
