The Philadelphia Flyers were on the wrong end of a 7-3 shellacking at the hands of the LA Kings at Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night.

Anze Kopitar and Kevin Fiala led the way for the Kings with two goals apiece. Meanwhile, Darcy Kuemper made 23 saves for the win.

As for the Philadelphia Flyers, Tyson Foerster had a great game, registering three points (2G, 1A) on the night. However, not every Philadelphia player had a good night.

Here’s a closer look at the three least impressive Philadelphia Flyers players from Thursday night’s pounding by the LA Kings.

3 least impressive Philadelphia Flyers from 7-3 loss to LA Kings

#3. Travis Sanheim

Travis Sanheim has played on the Philadelphia Flyers' shutdown defense pairing this season. While his overall performance has been solid this season, his numbers on Thursday night weren’t quite as impressive.

Sanheim registered a minus-4 on the night in 22:46 minutes of ice time. He played in 31 shifts but was largely ineffective against the Kings’ top scorers.

Overall, Sanheim’s performance is highly disappointing as he is expected to play tough minutes against the opposition’s best players. However, Sanheim was unable to live up to expectations against the Kings.

#2. Jamie Drysdale

Sanheim’s partner Jamie Drysdale had an equally tough night against the Kings. Drysdale finished the game with a minus-3 rating in 22:44 minutes of ice time over 32 shifts. He managed to block one shot while failing to stop the Kings’ top players.

Like Sanheim, the Flyers expect more from Drysdale as part of the shutdown pair on the team. But Drysdale’s showing against the Kings raises concerns about his competitive level when facing top offensive players.

It remains to be seen whether coach John Tortorella will shake up his defense pairings to get more out of his top defensive players.

#1. Aleksei Kolosov

Philadelphia netminder Aleksei Kolosov had a rough night, allowing six goals on 26 shots. It’s worth pointing out that the Flyers were actually down 5-3 late in the third when Kolosov was pulled for the extra attacker.

The Kings added an empty-netter to seal the win. However, with Kolosov back in the crease, Fiala added another goal to make the game 7-3.

The off-night Kolosov had was highly discouraging as he is regarded as a potential NHL starting netminder. With that sort of showing, concerns may emerge about Kolosov’s ability to hold down a full-time NHL role.

The Philadelphia Flyers will look to bounce back when they host the Colombus Blue Jackets next on Saturday.
