Adam Jiricek is a Czech ice hockey defenseman currently playing for HC Plzeň in the Czech Extraliga. Moreover, he is anticipated to be a top defenseman in his age group and a potential first-round pick for the forthcoming 2024 NHL draft. Jiricek also comes from a hockey family, being the younger brother of NHL defenseman David Jiricek.
Talking about his hockey journey, he began with HC Plzen's U17 team and later progressedto the U18 and U20 levels before making it to the main team in the 2022-23 season. During the 2022-23 season, Jiricek tallied 12 goals and 17 assists in 41 under-20 games, along with two assists in 12 Extraliga appearances. He was later drafted 19th overall in the 2023 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft by the Brantford Bulldogs but opted to continue playing in Europe. However, his draft year took an unfortunate turn when he sustained a season-ending knee injury during an international competition in December 2023.
