Evgeny Svechnikov's professional career began in 2012 with Ak Bars Kazan's junior teams and made his pro debut with Ak Bars at just 17 years old during the 2013–14 season. Remarkably, in 2015, he was drafted 19th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL Entry Draft and signed a three-year contract. He recorded impressive stats in the QMJHL and AHL, leading to his NHL debut with the Red Wings in 2017. Despite a knee injury sidelining him for the 2018–19 season, he continued to showcase his talent upon his return.
