Artyom Levshunov is an 18-year-old who plays defense for the Michigan State Spartans under the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program. Notably, he is considered a top 10 prospect for the upcoming 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
Prior to his college career, Levshunov played for Team Belarus U17 in the Belarus Vysshaya Liga, scoring 10 goals and 16 assists in 46 games. The following season, with Team Belarus U18, Levshunov tallied 25 goals and 38 assists in 63 games. Moving on, he was drafted 111th overall by the Green Bay Gamblers in the 8th round of the 2022 USHL Phase II Draft at the age of 16. The subsequent 2022-23 season saw him dressing up for the Green Bay Gamblers in the United State Hockey League (USHL), where he recorded 13 goals and 29 assists in 62 games. Also, throughout the season, he earned the USHL Defenseman of the Week honors twice and was named to the USHL First All-Rookie Team and Third All-USHL Team.
He committed to Michigan State University in the summer of 2023 and later made his Spartans debut on October 7, 2023, against Lake Superior State. The season saw him tally 9 goals and 26 assists in 38 games. Furthermore, he earned a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team and the All-Big Ten Freshman Team in 2024. Additionally, Levshunov was honored as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and secured a place on the AHCA West Second Team All-American in 2024.
