Looking at the Colorado Avalanche's season so far and upcoming games

Heading into the 2024-25 season, the Colorado Avalanche were sitting as one of the top five teams in Stanley Cup betting odds. Despite that, the team got off to a rough start this season, losing four straight to begin the year.

After a loss to the Vegas Golden Knights in their season opener, the team then lost three straight at home before finally getting an overtime win against the Anaheim Ducks on Oct. 18.

The game marked a major shift in momentum for the team that saw them win another four games in a row, defeating the Sharks, Kraken, Utah Hockey Club, and Ottawa Senators. Then, on Monday, the Avalanche had their five-game win streak snapped by the Chicago Blackhawks.

The team is sitting in fourth place in the Central Division with a 5-5-0 record that sees them holding onto 10 points along with the 5-5-0 Blues and the 4-4-2 Utah Hockey Club.

Following tonight's home game against the Lightning, the Avalanche will be back in action on Saturday for a road game against the Predators. They will then return home for a Nov. 5 game against the Kraken, before then hitting the road for a game against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
