On Wednesday night, the Chicago Blackhawks will collide with the Detroit Red Wings in a highly-anticipated clash of rivals. The game will be the first of two meetings between the two teams this season, who despite playing in different divisions, have long been bitter rivals.
While Chicago will be riding a two-game win streak into tonight's game, Detroit will be looking to build on a win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, which snapped a three-game skid.
The Chicago Blackhawks have three players on the injury report. Netminder Laurent Brossoit is still recovering from a knee injury, defenceman Alec Martinez is working his way back to 100% after suffering a groin injury, and Joey Anderson is day-to-day with an illness.

Looking at the Chicago Blackhawks' season so far and the odds for tonight's game
After a roster overhaul this summer where manager Kyle Davidson acquired Teuvo Teravainen and Tyler Bertuzzi, the Blackhawks entered this season with some momentum.
Time and time again, however, the team has struggled to get over the metaphorical hump in tight games. Its record stands at 5-7-1 thanks to a four-game losing streak late last month that brought it to 2-6-1.
Since then, the team has won three of its last four. The Blackhawks enter tonight's game on a two-game win streak after a big comeback against the Kings on Saturday and a 4–2 win over Anaheim on Sunday.
Following tonight's home game against the Red Wings, the Blackhawks will hit the road for a clash with the Dallas Stars on Thursday before hosting the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
Ahead of puck drop, scheduled for 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST), the Red Wings are sitting as slight favorites on most major US sportsbooks with -122 odds to win while the Blackhawks are +102 underdogs.
To simplify these numbers, it would take a $122 bet on Detroit as the favorites to win $100 whereas a $100 bet on Chicago as the underdogs would win $102.
