On Friday, the Chicago Blackhawks will host the Montreal Canadiens as the team looks to snap a five-game skid that most recently saw them lose their NHL Winter Classic game at home to the St. Louis Blues 6-2.

While Chicago will be heading into tonight's game looking to snap a losing streak, Montreal will be looking to build on a three-game win streak that most recently saw them pick up a big 3-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on New Year's Eve.

With Chicago looking to fight their way out of last place in the Central Division and Montreal looking to claw their way up the Atlantic Division standings, tonight's game is a must-win for both teams.

When the Blackhawks take the ice, they will once again be without netminder Laurent Brossoit. Additionally, the team is expected to be without Connor Murphy, who sat out practice on Thursday with a groin injury, and Alec Martinez, who is day-to-day with a neck injury.

Following tonight's game, Chicago will host a struggling New York Rangers team on Sunday and the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday before hitting the road for a game against the Red Wings in Detroit on Friday.

The game will mark the first leg of a back-to-back that will see the Blackhawks return home to host the Edmonton Oilers on Jan. 11 to wrap up the week.
