The Chicago Blackhawks will look to make it two straight when they host the Washington Capitals at the United Center tonight. They picked up just their second win since parting ways with coach Luke Richardson against the New York Islanders on Sunday. The team will now be looking to build some momentum as they hope to improve in the divisional standings.
Standing in their way, however, will be a Washington Capitals team who recently had a four-game win streak snapped by the Dallas Stars in their most recent game. Heading into tonight's clash, Chicago is sitting in seventh place in the Central Division with a record of 10-19-2. Meanwhile, Washington is sitting atop the Metropolitan Division with a record of 21-7-2.
Chicago have an uphill battle if they want to climb the divisional ladder, sitting 11 points behind the sixth-place Blues. On the flip side, the Capitals are sitting one point ahead of the second-place New Jersey Devils in a competitive Metropolitan Division.

Looking at the odds for tonight's Blackhawks vs Capitals game as well as upcoming games on Chicago's schedule
Heading into tonight's game, it should come as no surprise that the Washington Capitals are comfortable betting favorites given how well the team has played this year.
On FanDuel, the Capitals are -210 favorites while on the flip side, Chicago is a +172 underdog. Meanwhile, on DraftKings, the Capitals are -205 favorites while the Blackhawks are +170 underdogs.
Using these numbers as an example, it would take a $205 bet on Washington as the favorites to win $100. Whereas, a $100 bet on Chicago would win $170 assuming lines stay consistent between now and puck drop.
Following tonight's game, Chicago will host the Seattle Kraken on Thursday before hitting the road for three straight games starting with a clash against the Flames on Saturday, Dec. 21.
The Blackhawks will then head to Minnesota for a game with the Wild on Dec. 23. They will wrap up their road stretch with a Dec. 27 clash against the Buffalo Sabres.
