Brandon Hagel is a Canadian professional player for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL, as of March 2025. He was born on August 27, 1998, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and raised in Morinville, Alberta. Hagel began his hockey journey in the Alberta Midget Hockey League before moving on to the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Red Deer Rebels.

During his time with the Rebels, he set a franchise record for most assists and caught the attention of NHL scouts. The Buffalo Sabres selected Hagel in the 2016 NHL Draft but was later relinquished by the team, allowing him to sign with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2018. After making his NHL debut in 2020, Hagel's breakout season came in 2021–22, when he was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
