Brandon Montour, born on April 11, 1994, is a Canadian defenseman currently playing for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Notably, he was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the second round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and was also a part of the Buffalo Sabres between 2019-2021.
Montour's hockey journey began in Cambridge, Ontario, before joining the Brantford Golden Eagles and later the Caledonia Corvairs. He then played for the Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL and spent a season with the University of Massachusetts Amherst. It was while at Amherst that Montour was picked up and was assigned to the Norfolk Admirals before starting for the San Diego Gulls in the 2015-16 season. Moving forward, he made his NHL debut with the Ducks the following season, where he quickly established himself as a key player for the team. Moreover, Montour was part of all of Ducks' postseason games that season, contributing seven assists in 17 games. He continued to excel with the Ducks, setting personal records in points. However, he was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in 2019 before eventually joining the Florida Panthers in 2021.
