Bryan Peter Rust is an American professional ice hockey right-winger, currently playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on May 11, 1992, he was selected 80th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Post his selection, Rust signed a two-year contract with the Penguins and started his professional career with the Penguins's affiliate, Wilkes-Barre in the AHL. Rust made his NHL debut during the 2014-15 season, earning the Michel Brière Rookie of the Year Award, given by the Pittsburgh Penguins to the most outstanding rookie. Additionally, Bryan Rust has won the Stanley Cup twice in his career.

Bryan Rust has won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins (in 2015-16 and 2016-17). He played a crucial role in both the victories.

In the 2016 playoffs, the Penguins went against the New York Rangers in the first round with Rust, Malkin and Sheary on the third line. During Game 5, Rust scored two goals and assisted a goal to help the Penguins get past the Rangers. He continued his strong form into the second round, where the Penguins went against the Washington Capitals. Interestingly, Rust tied a franchise record for most goals scored by a rookie. Moreover, he recorded three goals, including twice during Game 7 of the Eastern Conference against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Penguins then faced the Sharks in the finals and ultimately turned victorious.

In the 2017 playoffs, Rust performed exceptionally well, earning the nickname "Mr. Elimination" among the fans as he scored many important goals during the elimination games. His timely scores helped the Penguins to eliminate teams like Columbus Blue Jackets, Washington Capitals and the Ottawa Senators. The Penguins faced the Predators in the finals and won the series in 6 games.
