The Buffalo Sabres is a professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York. Established in 1970, they compete in the NHL in the Atlantic Division of the Western Conference. Since 1996, the team has played its home games at KeyBank Center, having previously played at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium. The Sabres are owned by Terry Pegula, who purchased the team in 2011 from Tom Golisano. The team reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 1975 and 1999. However, they have yet to win the championship trophy. Notably, the Sabres are one of the oldest active NHL franchises to never win a Stanley Cup along with Vancouver Canuck. As of 2024, the Sabres hold the longest playoff drought in NHL history, missing the playoff seasons for 13 consecutive seasons.

These matchups will take place on Friday, October 4, and Saturday, October 5, marking the start of an exciting season for the Sabres. The notable games of the Sabres will be against the Stanley Cup winner Florida Panthers who will visit Buffalo twice, first on Saturday, October 12, and again on Monday, October 28. Another significant matchup comes on Saturday, October 26, when Buffalo native Patrick Kane will play against the Sabres as a member of the Detroit Red Wings.
