Calgary Flames

The Calgary Flames is a professional ice hockey team, playing in the NHL since 1972. The team is based in Alberta and competes in the Western Conference's Pacific Division. Originally founded as Atlanta Flames, the franchise moved to Calgary and became Calgary Flames in 1980. Since then, they’ve become one of the two NHL franchises in Alberta, sharing an intense rivalry with the Edmonton Oilers known as the "Battle of Alberta."

They host their home games at Scotiabank Saddledome. The team won their first Stanley Cup in the 1988–89 season. Notable players in the franchise's history include Jarome Iginla, who holds records for the most games, goals, and points, and Miikka Kiprusoff, the goaltender with the most wins. Besides their professional success, the Calgary Flames are involved in the community through their Flames Foundation.
