The Calgary Flames are a professional ice hockey team based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The Flames compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference. The team is currently owned by the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation (CSEC) and have minor league affiliations with Calgary Wranglers of the AHL and Rapid City Bush of the ECHL.
The Flames were foundеd in 1972 in Atlanta as thе Atlanta Flamеs bеforе rеlocating to Calgary in 1980. The team currently plays their home games at Scotiabank Saddledome which they share with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League, Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League and with Calgary Wranglers of the American Hockey League.

Calgary Flames Stanley Cup History-
One of the most memorable moments in Calgary Flames’ history was their first victory in the Stanley Cup Finals in the 1988-1989 season. They defeated a formidable Montreal Canadiens lineup in a six-game series under the coaching of Terry Crisp with players like Lanny McDonald, Al MacInnis, and Joe Nieuwendyk contributing to the victory. Additionally, Doug Gilmour scored the series-winning goal.
With this accomplishment they became the first team to win the Stanley Cup after relocating. The finals series was also notable as it was the Canadiens’ first defeat in the Cup Finals since 1967 and was Patrick Kane’s only Cup finals where he was not on the winning side.
The Flames later reached the finals during the 2003-2004 season, albeit in a losing attempt. They faced the Tampa Bay Lightning but lost in the series deciding game 7. In recent years, the Flames have been inconsistent with their performances. The period between 2010 and 2016 saw them making only one playoff appearance.
