Cam Talbot NHL Teams' History

Cam Talbot has played for various NHL teams, including the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators, and currently the Los Angeles Kings. He has demonstrated his goaltending prowess and made significant contributions to each team he has played for, showcasing his versatility and skill on the ice.

New York Rangers (2013-15):

Cam Talbot's journey began with the New York Rangers, where he made significant contributions after being signed as a free agent in March 2010. His NHL debut on October 24, 2013, against the Philadelphia Flyers, marked the start of an impressive journey with the Rangers. Talbot's performance was notable, securing his first NHL win in the following game against the Detroit Red Wings and his first shutout against the Montreal Canadiens in November 2013.

During the 2014 playoffs, Talbot played a crucial role as he stepped in to relieve Henrik Lundqvist en-route to the Rangers' Eastern Conference title. Despite falling short in the Finals against the Los Angeles Kings, Talbot's contributions solidified his position as a reliable goaltender for the team.

Talbot's resilience and consistency were evident during the 2014-15 season when he began as the Rangers' backup goaltender but quickly proved himself with three shutouts in his first eight games. His standout performances continued when he took over as the temporary starting goaltender in February 2015 due to an injury to Lundqvist. Talbot's impressive stats during Lundqvist's absence earned him recognition and the Steve McDonald Extra Effort Award for his contributions to the team's Presidents' Trophy-winning season.

Edmonton Oilers (2015-19):

In June 2015, Talbot embarked on a new chapter in his career as he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers. His time with the Oilers proved fruitful, with Talbot showcasing his prowess between the pipes and establishing himself as the team's starting goaltender. Notably, he set an Oilers record for most wins in a season during the 2016-2017 campaign, demonstrating his value to the franchise.

Philadelphia Flyers (2019):

Following his stint with the Oilers, Talbot joined the Philadelphia Flyers in February 2019, where he aimed to provide veteran experience and mentorship to the team's goaltending corps. Despite facing challenges with the Flyers, Talbot remained a respected figure within the league, bringing his wealth of experience to the ice.

Calgary Flames (2019-20):

During his stint with the Calgary Flames, Cam Talbot signed a one-year, $2.75 million deal on July 1, 2019, after becoming a free agent. Talbot's standout performance during the COVID-19 pandemic and the NHL's return to play earned him the nickname "Yes We Cam" Talbot, as he backstopped the Flames to a 3–1 series win over the Winnipeg Jets, including a game-four shutout.

Minnesota Wild (2020-22):

Following his tenure with the Flames, Talbot embarked on a new journey with the Minnesota Wild on October 9, 2020, agreeing to a three-year deal worth $11 million to become the team's starting goaltender. Talbot's inaugural season with the Wild saw him tally an impressive 19–8–5 record, guiding the team to the playoffs, although they were eliminated in the first round by the Vegas Golden Knights. Despite being a key player, the Wild acquired veteran goaltender Marc-André Fleury, leading to Talbot's availability for trade.

Ottawa Senators (2022-23):

In July 2022, Talbot found himself on the move again, this time joining the Ottawa Senators. Despite showing promise with the Senators, contractual differences led to his departure from the team in April 2023.

Los Angeles Kings (2023-present):

Most recently, Talbot embarked on a new chapter with the Los Angeles Kings, signing a one-year contract in July 2023. As he continues his journey in the NHL, Talbot remains a seasoned goaltender known for his skill, resilience, and leadership both on and off the ice.
