Looking at Vancouver Canucks's season recap and schedule for the remainder of the week
As previously mentioned, the Vancouver Canucks had a rough start to the season, losing three straight games (1 L, 2 OTL) after ending last season with the best record in the Pacific Division.
In their season opener, they lost a narrow 6-5 meeting with the Calgary Flames before losing another home game in a shootout to the Philadelphia Flyers. Then, as the team hit the road, their struggles continued, as they dropped a 4-1 game to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Oct. 15.
With Kevin Lankinen in net, they were able to bounce back in a big way with a 3-2 OT win over the Florida Panthers, who entered this season as the defending champions. Last weekend, they avenged their Oct. 11 loss to the Flyers with a 3-0 shutout on the road to bring their season record to 2-1-2.
Earlier this week, the team evened its season record with a third win during the NHL's Frozen Frenzy, making it 3-1-2 on the year.
Following tonight's home game against the Penguins, the Canucks will host the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday, and the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday to close out the month of October before starting a three-game road stretch.
