Tonight, the Vancouver Canucks will look to get back in the win column amid a two-game skid that has seen them drop back-to-back losses to Winnipeg and Los Angeles. With just two wins over their last 10 games, the Canucks' chances of going back-to-back as divisional champs seem to be getting slimmer with each passing day.
With the team now sitting several points outside of third place and even further outside of second place, every game is a must-win for the Canucks between now and the start of the postseason if they want to have any hope of making a playoff run.
Across from them on the ice tonight will be an Edmonton Oilers team looking to pick up their fifth win in a row while jockeying for first place in the division with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Canucks alternate captain JT Miller called out by coach Rick Tocchet after Thursday's 5-1 loss
Last season, Canucks forward JT Miller had a career year, logging 103 points throughout the season with 37 goals and 66 assists. After coming just one point short of eclipsing 100 points two years before, it appeared as though Miller may have taken the next step in his evolution as a player.
This season, however, over 34 games, Miller has logged just eight goals and 21 assists while Vancouver has struggled to replicate the same success as last season.
After a 5-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday, Vancouver coach Rick Tocchet challenged Miller to adjust his focus while speaking with a member of the press postgame:
“He is struggling. He is caught in between. It seems like every time he is on the ice, something bad happens. I think he has some bad luck, but he also has some reads that he has to look at himself right now, focus on some of these reads.
"I mean, you can’t dive in on a four-on-four, things like that. I think he is trying, but I think the focus level has to get a little higher.”
After five straight games without a point, Miller will look to help the Canucks get back in the win column tonight when they collide with the Oilers.
