Chris Schlenker is a Canadian ice hockey referee currently officiating in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on July 9, 1984, he has been wearing the uniform number 3 since his promotion to the NHL. He previously wore the number 48 uniform. Chris Schlenker started his journey in Alberta, playing for the St. Albert Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League in 2000. He later scaled to Western Hockey League (WHL) for the 2000-2001 season with Regina Pats. Schlenker stayed there until the 2003-2004 season. He was traded to the Prince Albert Raiders in January 2004 where he stayed until the end of the 2004-05 season. In 2005, Schlenker went to Germany and signed a contract with the Stuttgart Wizards in the German Oberliga, participating in 11 games during his sole season in the league.

Schlenker returned to the WHL as a referee in 2012. This return led to the Allen Paradice Memorial Trophy in 2016 as the top official of the league (for that season). Schlenker was also part of the American Hockey League in 2015 where he officiated the Calder Cup Finals in 2017 and 2018. Later, the NHL signed him to a minor-league contract before the commencement of the 2016-2017 season. Schlenker was promoted to a full-time officiating role prior to the 2018-2019 season in the NHL. He officiated his first game as a full-time NHL official on October 3, 2019, in a matchup featuring the Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks. Chris Schlenker has since officiated in over 350 NHL games ( as of October 2023).
