Claude Julien is a former professional ice hockey player turned coach. Born on April 23, 1960, he is serving as an assistant coach of the St. Louis Blues in the 2024 NHL season. Before becoming a coach, Julien played ice hockey in various leagues including OMJHL, OHL, CHL, AHL, and NHL. He retired from playing in 1992 and took the responsibility of head coach of the Ottawa Jr. Senators in CJHL. Moving to the NHL, Julien made his name as a head coach of the Boston Bruins, leading them to the Stanley Cup victory in 2011. Julien became the longest-serving head coach of the Bruins in the NHL. Julie again led the Bruins to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2013 but could not achieve victory against the Chicago Blackhawks.
