Clayton Keller, born on July 29, 1998, is an American professional ice hockey forward and alternate captain for the Arizona Coyotes in the National Hockey League (NHL). Notably, he was selected seventh overall in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

Keller’s passion for ice hockey ignited at the tender age of three, sparked by attending a high school game with his mother. This experience fueled his desire to pursue the sport further. He soon found himself among a group of aspiring young hockey players in the St. Louis area, including Luke Opilka, Luke Kunin, and Matthew Tkachuk. Moreover, Keller attended Shattuck-Saint Mary's before joining US NTDP. Moving further, he committed himself to play college hockey at Boston University.

In his inaugural season with the Boston Terriers, he earned accolades such as the Hockey East Rookie of the Year Award and the Tim Taylor Award for being the top NCAA Division I rookie. Nonetheless, after the conclusion of his freshman season, Keller signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Coyotes on March 26, 2017. The following evening, he marked his NHL debut in a game against the St. Louis Blues, at the Scottrade center.
