The Stars were on a fantastic run of form and looked formidable over the last month but got stopped away from home by the Senators. Their 3-2 defeat away from home was their first defeat in eight games after the Stars covered up their poor start to the campaign with a string of continuous wins.

The Maple Leafs are benefiting from their big lead over the second-placed Florida Panthers but the gap keeps reducing with their dropped points.

While Mitch Marner continues his fantastic run this season for the Maple Leafs, scoring 59 points so far, John Tavares has been on the rise over the last few weeks. The forward has scored 20 goals and provided 22 assists since the start of the season.
