Does Sidney Crosby want to retire as a Montreal Canadien?

Reports suggest that Sidney Crosby, who has played his entire 18-season career with the Pittsburgh Penguins, may consider ending his career with the Montreal Canadiens.

This could happen if things with the Penguins fall apart by the end of his current contract, which has this season plus two more before it expires. If the Penguins appear to be on the decline and not in contention, Crosby may not want to waste his time with them, and he may look for other options. While it would take a lot for this to happen, Crosby's junior career was with Rimouski of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Additionally, he is from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, making the idea of him playing for a Canadian team like Montreal not entirely out of the question.

Reports suggest that Sidney Crosby may have considered moving to Colorado last season, but this did not happen. If the Canadiens are contenders for the Stanley Cup in 2025, Crosby could consider playing for his "hometown" team.
