Pettersson made an impressive NHL debut on October 3, 2018, registering a goal and an assist against the Calgary Flames. He earned a spot in the NHL All-Star Game in 2019 and 2020, finishing his rookie season with 66 points and winning the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie. Pettersson formed strong chemistry with teammates like Brock Boeser and J.T. Miller. He scored his 300th NHL point in the 2022-23 season, making him one of the fastest players in Canucks history to achieve this accomplishment.
