On Thursday night, two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference will go head-to-head when the Florida Panthers travel to New York for a clash with the New York Rangers. After winning the Stanley Cup last season, their first in franchise history, the Florida Panthers entered this season with high hopes as they look to go back-to-back.

Currently, the team is sitting in first place in the Atlantic Division with a 4-3-1 record and nine points. Most recently, the Panthers fell 5-1 to the Minnesota Wild during the NHL's Frozen Frenzy slate of games on Tuesday, which closed out a three-game home stretch where the defending champions went just 1-2.

In the case of the Panthers, the team has several players sidelined, including Justin Sourdif and Tomas Nosek being on the injured reserve list. Aleksander Barkov is out with a lower-body injury that will keep him sidelined until the beginning of November.

In addition, the team also has Jonah Gadjovich listed as day-to-day with a back injury, however the expectation is that he will be back in action sooner rather than later.

In the case of the Rangers, the team is heading into Thursday night's game with winger Jimmy Vesey on the injured reserve list after suffering an injury during training camp.

To simplify these odds using the DraftKings numbers as an example, it would take a $148 bet on the Rangers as the favorites to win $100, whereas a $100 bet on the Panthers, who are the underdogs, will win $124.
