His success led to a three-year contract extension with the team in February 2020.

New York Rangers

In just 22 games, he scored eight goals and provided 13 points. His impactful play continued into the playoffs, where he helped the Rangers reach the Conference Finals by scoring five goals and recording 13 points in 20 postseason games.
