Frederik Andersen is a Danish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Carolina Hurricanes in the NHL, as of 2024. Previously, he played for the Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs. Andersen was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2010 but was unable to agree contract terms with them. Andersen then opted to play in Europe before entering the 2012 NHL entry draft and being drafted as the 87th overall pick by the Anaheim Ducks. He debuted in the NHL in 2013 and became a standout, helping the Ducks reach the 2015 Western Conference Final and winning the William M. Jennings Trophy with John Gibson in 2015-16.

After a trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2016, Andersen became their top goalie, achieving milestones like 200 wins in just 344 games and earning a spot in the 2020 NHL All-Star Game. He joined the Hurricanes as a free agent in 2021, winning his second Jennings Trophy in 2021-22.
