Gustav Forsling, born on June 12, 1996, is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenseman who plays for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Interestingly, he was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft but never played for the Canucks in the NHL as his rights were traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Adam Clendening on January 29, 2015. However, his tenure with the Blackhawks was never a happy one, as he never managed to break into the starting roster for an extended period and was ultimately placed on waivers before being claimed by the Panthers, where he finally found his rhythm and built his name as a fan-favorite.
