NHL legend Wayne Gretzky's eldest daughter, Paulina, once shared an anecdote about her father's dating advice. During a 2022 Instagram 'Ask Me Anything' session. Paulina revealed how her four-time Stanley Cup-winning father's dating advice proved invaluable to her while deciding who to date.

The 36-year-old model, married to professional American golfer Dustin Johnson, boasts a huge social media following. As per the Toronto Sun, when a fan questioned "What did your dad think of DJ after he first met him," Paulina replied:

“He told me I should marry him.”

Paulina revealed that she sought her father's approval before accepting her now-husband Dustin Johnson's marriage proposal. Apparently, Dustin made a strong first impression on Wayne Gretzky.

In response to another question from a fan, about what's the best dating advice she has ever received, Paulina wrote:

“The best dating advice I ever received was from my dad. He told me to weigh the pros and cons of dating someone. If there are few cons and many pros, then don’t rule them out right away. If the cons outweigh the pros, then don’t try to be the person who thinks they can change them.”

Heeding her father Wayne Gretzky's dating advice and approval, Paulina accepted Dustin's proposal. The couple got engaged in 2013 and welcomed their first child in 2015 and another in 2017.

In April 2022, the couple finally tied the knot in a picturesque ceremony at Blackberry Farm, a luxurious resort farm based in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.

On Wednesday afternoon, Donald Trump took to his own social media platform 'Truth', to reveal that he has urged Wayne Gretzky, aka "the Great One," to run for Prime Minister of Canada.

Gretzky and his family are longtime Trump supporters and Gretzky's recent attendance at Trump's election night private party solidified their connection even further. Trump posted about Gretzky:

"I just left Wayne Gretzky, 'The Great One' as he is known in Ice Hockey circles. I said, 'Wayne, why don’t you run for Prime Minister of Canada, soon to be known as the Governor of Canada - You would win easily, you wouldn’t even have to campaign.' He had no interest, but I think the people of Canada should start a DRAFT WAYNE GRETZKY Movement. It would be so much fun to watch!"

Trump's post does not appear to be a serious proposal, since he's been vocal about his desire for Canada to join the US as a state and often refers to Canadian PM Justin Trudeau as "Governor."
