Henry Mews, born on March 9, 2006 is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman for the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Moreover, Mews is considered as a top prospect heading into the first round of the NHL Entry Draft 2024.

Mews initially played with the Ottawa Myers Automotive U14 AAA team before moving on to the U15 team and later to the Toronto Jr. Canadians U16 AAA level for the 2021-22 season and recorded 14 goals and 64 assists across 52 games. He also scored one goal and five points in six games, at the 2022 OHL Cup.

Moving forward, Mews was selected 7th overall in the 2022 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Priority Selection Draft. In his initial season in the OHL in the 2022-23 season.

Henry Mews has two siblings namely Charlie Mews and Max Mews. Both siblings play Ice Hockey.

Charlie Mews

Born in 2008 in Ontario, Canada, Charlie Mews is presently associated with the Nepean Raiders U16 AA/HEO U16 AA team and has also represented them through various levels till date. Notably, he was the HEO U16 AA Champion in the 2023-24 season.

Max Mews

Max Mews was born on April 25, 2008, in Ottawa, Ontario, and is presently playing for the Ottawa Myers Automotive U16 AAA team/HEO U16 team in the Junior Leagues of Canada as a forward.

Henry Mews’ Grandfather

Henry Mews' grandfather is the late Hank Mews who passed away back in October 2022. Hank was notable for being a gifted athlete and later for building a successful career with General Motors before becoming the owner of Myers Automotive Group. Other than this, he was the founding member and President of ONCDA (Ottawa New Car Dealers Association) and founding member and President of a LAR Inc., a buying group out of Montreal.

He was also a great philanthropist and was married to Phyllis with four children and 13 grandchildren.

Henry Mews was born to former ice hockey player Harry Mews. Although his mother has appeared in some of his pictures, her name is presently not known.

Remarkably, Harry Mews was drafted in the first round of the 1988 NHL Supplemental Draft by the Washington Capitals. Prior to that, he initiated his journey with the Nepean Raiders in the Central Junior Hockey League (CJHL), where he had an inspiring performance over two seasons. While there, he played 54 games, scored 27 goals and recorded 48 assists for a total of 75 points in the 1984-85 season. He continued this with an even more impressive 1985-86 season, recording 31 goals and presenting 93 assists in 59 games.
