Henry Mews, born on March 9, 2006 is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman for the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and is estimated to be a high first round pick in the NHL Entry Draft 2024.

Prior to that, Henry had started his career with the Ottawa Myers Automobile U14 in the HEP U14 League and later played with the Toronto Jr. Canadians at the U16 AAA level in the 2021-22 season. Soon after, he was picked by the Ottawa 66’s and began his journey in the Ontario Canada League (OSHL). Remarkably, sports run deeply in his family, with all his siblings playing it too

Henry Mews was born to Harry Mews on March 9, 2006, in Ottawa, Ontario. Notably, Harry was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the first round (20th overall pick) of the 1988 NHL Supplemental Draft but never made it to the NHL. He, however, reached the heights of the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Baltimore Skipjacks and also had stints in the CJHL and the ECHL.

Interestingly, at the age of 24, Mews won the ECHL Kelly Cup Champions by gaining victory over the Greensboro Monarchs in a best of seven series with a 4-1 victory in 1991. In the coming year, at the age of 25, the Admirals repeated their ECHL Kelly Cup Championship triumph. During this, they thumped the Louisville Icehawks by 4-0 scoreline in another best of seven series, confirming their second consecutive championship. Their back to back achievements solidified Hampton Roads Admirals’ dominance in the league during the early 1990s.
