Patrick Kane is a professional ice hockey right winger in the NHL, born on November 19, 1988, in Buffalo, New York. He is now playing as an unrestricted free agent after serving his tenure with the Chicago Blackhawks. Patrick Kane debuted in the NHL on October 4, 2007. He was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2007 NHL Entry draft. He played for the New York Rangers during the 2022-2023 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent.

Apart from the NHL, he marked his international appearance by representing the United States in the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics. Patrick has spent most of his NHL career playing with the Chicago Blackhawks.

After Patrick's selection with the Chicago Blackhawks, he quickly made an impact as a player in the league. He wore an 88-number jersey, which is his birth year. Following his entry, Patrick signed a three-year contract with the Blackhawks. Patrick made his debut on October 4, 2007, and immediately showcased his skills with shootout goals and assists. Patrick won the Rookie of the Month for October 2007.

In the 2008-2009 season, his performance led the Blackhawks in the playoffs, where Patrick recorded his career's first hat-trick, making a significant mark in the Conference Finals. In 2010, Patrick scored overtime goals and helped the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup in 49 years. He became the youngest player in NHL history to hit an overtime goal for a Stanley Cup win.

During the 2013 season, he scored important goals in game 5 for the Western Cup Finals and led his team to the Stanley Cup Finals. He was named for the Conn Smythe Trophy that year as the Playoffs MVP. In the 2014-2015 season, he scored 11 goals and 12 assists in the playoffs and eventually the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup.

In the 2015-2016 season, Patrick played 26 games and recorded 40 goals. He was named for the Art Rose Trophy for the NHL's leading scorer with 106 points. He won the Hart Memorial Award and Ted Lindsay Award for the Most Valuable Player and the Most Outstanding Player of the league, respectively. On January 20, 2018, he recorded his 800th career goal, making him the fifth player in franchise history to achieve this milestone.

Patrick excelled in the 2020-21 season; he achieved the 400th career goal in February 2021 and played his 1000th career game on March 9, 2021. Before finishing his tenure with the Blackhawks, he recorded 45 points in the 2022-23 season. Patrick played with the Chicago Blackhawks for a long tenure of 16 years, from 2007 to 2022.

On February 28, 2023, his long journey with the Blackhawks came to a close and he was traded to the New York Rangers. Patrick reunited with his old teammate Artemi Panarin in the Rangers, who played a significant role during Patrick's winning season in 2015-16.

Patrick contributed 12 points in his 12 games with the Rangers. Though he scored one goal and 5 assists during the postseason, the Rangers lost against the New Jersey Devils in the seven games.
