Steven Stamkos is expected to play tonight.

Steven Stamkos is expected to play when the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center on Thursday, March 16. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET.

Stamkos has been dealing with a lower-body injury to his left knee on a day-to-day basis and last played on March 12 against the Winnipeg Jets. He did not play in the Lightning's game against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday, March 14.

"An update on #GoBolts' captain Steven Stamkos: Stamkos was a full participant in practice today and excepts to play tomorrow in N.J. He probably tried to come back from his left knee injury Saturday too soon by playing Sunday because the knee didn't feel good after that game."- Eduardo A. Encina

However, there is some good news for Bolt fans. Captain Steven Stamkos took part in the team's practice session yesterday in preparation for today's game against the Devils. We'll need to wait for the official confirmation from the team management.

During TB's Saturday game against the Chicago Blackhawks, Stamkos suffered a left leg injury. He was forced to leave the ice late in the first period and was unable to finish the game against the Blackhawks.

After seeking medical attention, it was revealed that Stamkos would not miss any more games and he played against the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday. Stamkos took a hit to his left leg against the Jets, but luckily this has not had a long-term effect. Stamkos was given a break on Tuesday against the New Jersey Devils in order to recover quickly.

"After sitting Tuesday night in New Jersey, Stamoks' knee is feeling better now. He took a blocked shot to his left foot during Sunday's game in the first period, but that had no effect on the knee. He just needed some more time for the knee to recover after coming back too soon."- Eduardo A. Encina
