
Jack Eichel is an American professional ice hockey center and alternate captain for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, on October 28, 1996, and began playing ice hockey at a young age, quickly rising through the ranks of youth hockey. In 2012-13, he joined the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, where he played for two seasons. During his second season with the NTDP, Jack was named to the United States Hockey League Second All-Star Team. After his time with the NTDP, Jack committed to play college hockey at Boston University. He had an outstanding freshman season in 2014-15, leading the Terriers in goals (26) and points (71). Jack was also named the Hockey East Player of the Year and earned the Hobey Baker Award as the nation's top college hockey player.
Jack entered the 2015 NHL Draft and was selected second overall by the Buffalo Sabres, one pick after the Edmonton Oilers selected Connor McDavid.
