Jacob Markström is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender who plays for the New Jersey Devils in the NHL as of January 2025. Born on January 31, 1990, in Gävle, Sweden, he was drafted 31st overall by the Florida Panthers in 2008. Markstrom quickly gained recognition for his butterfly-style goaltending and outstanding performances in Sweden’s top league with Brynas IF.

Markstrom made his NHL debut in 2011 with the Panthers. Over his career, he has played for other teams like the Vancouver Canucks (2014-2020) and Calgary Flames (2020-2024). In 2022, he earned a spot in the All-Star Game.
