Jason Robertson is a professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League (NHL) who plays as a left winger for the Dallas Stars. Jason Robertson was selected by the Dallas Stars in the second round (39th overall) pick in the 2017 NHL Entry draft.

Robertson's younger brother Nicholas Roberston who is also a professional ice hockey left-winger with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL. Their parents Mercedes Robertson and Hughs Robertson played important roles in shaping their sons Jason and Nicholas's careers in hockey. Both mother and father loved hockey and decided to build their sons' careers in ice hockey. They shifted to Northville, Michigan from California to explore more opportunities for their sons in Northville, which is known for a strong culture of hockey. Nicholas Robertson, born on September 11, 2001, is an American ice hockey left winger playing with the Toronto Maples Leafs of the NHL. He was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 53rd overall in the 2019 NHL Entry draft. He made his debut in the NHL in the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He scored one goal in four games.

Nicholas started his hockey career with the AAA minor hockey team Toronto Red Wings in the Greater Toronto Hockey League. During his time in the GTHL, he caught the attention of Ontario Hockey Leagues' recruiters and they drafted him 17 overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry draft. He was selected by the Peterborough Petes. He scored 55 goals and 31 assists with the Peters in his final year before the pandemic in 2020. He secured the CHL Sportsman of the Year Award and was also named to the 2019-2020 OHL All-Star Team.

After being drafted by the Toronto Maples, he signed an entry-level contract with them in 2019 and made his NHL debut during the 2020 playoffs. He became the youngest player to play in the playoff season for the Maples. He faced a leg injury during his debut season yet Nicholas performed well. Nick Robertson participated in the Toronto Maple Leafs' training camp ahead of the 2023–24 NHL season but was initially assigned to their AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. However, on November 6, 2023, the Maple Leafs called him up, and he made his season debut with the team that same night, contributing in a thrilling 6–5 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Jason Robertson NHL Journey

Jason started his minor hockey career in Michigan with the Little Caesars and Detroit Kings AAA team where he performed exceptionally well. His performance slowly improved and in 2015, he was drafted by the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League. He immediately made his mark in Kingston with an impressive score of 18 goals in his first season. In the 2017-2018 season, he became the first player in the Kingston Frontenacs' history to score 40 goals in back to back seasons. He joined the Niagara IcDogs in the 2018-2019 season and contributed 79 points in just 38 games. Niagara IceDogs secured the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy that season.

Jason made his NHL debut in the 2019-2020 season and was sent to the Dallas’ AHL affiliate team Texas Stars and played that season there. In the following year, Jason earned a place on the opening night roster for Dallas. He played incredibly well and scored 17 goals and 28 assists in just 51 games. He was recognized as the first runner-up for the Calder Memorial Cup considering his contribution to the team.

His other highlight arrived in the 2021-2022 season when he scored back-to-back hat tricks in two consecutive games. This was a moment of pride for Jason in Dallas. Jason is currently playing with them as a right winger and has many more awards to receive.
